Talerang- About and How It Works
Talerang currently operates out of Mumbai being our head office, Delhi, Bangalore and Pune. Provider of a communication platform, Talerang intend to develop work-ready graduates for India through a unique, experiential model researched as a project at Harvard Business School.
The company's omni-platform connects students with Industry Experts for internships and full-time opportunities and is committed to solving the work-readiness crisis that students and organizations face and bridge the gap between what colleges teach and what organizations look for, enabling students to realize their potential and prepare better for their future and get placed according to their qualification.
Their pilots at some of India’s best colleges found that under 60% of students felt ready to take on a job. Less than 50% of students had mentors they could seek out. They also connected with the HR heads and CEOs of leading organizations like the Tata and Birla groups, only to find that companies were equally worried about the work-readiness crisis and were unhappy with the entry-level talent. Later on, it was no longer a research project, but developed into a mission that needed to be accomplished.

We hire people who believe in the concept of getting stuff done with entrepreneurial spirit and skill track.

How Talerang Started?
Talerang was born in 2013 with a focused and determined mission to give every student in India an opportunity to live their dreams and turn them into reality.
While at Teach for India in 2011, Ms. Shveta spoke to many students across the country that were unaware of the courses available in the market, confused about their careers, unaware of their passions and a majority of them were not prepared to enter the work-world and had limited practical exposure. Some of them were unable to get the right advice as well as guidance that can help them to walk on a right path. They realized the depth of the problem and figured out the fact that it might have a bad impact on the Indian youth and will affect the economy of India.
Talerang was launched to be a simple, high quality solution to India’s work readiness crisis and started offering career training to students and professionals with the purpose of creating a work-ready India.
Talerang- Name, Logo and Tagline
Talerang: Talent + Boomerang - When you invest in your own talent, it comes back to you like a boomerang! A boomerang is a rare and wondrous creation, because when thrown correctly, it comes flying right back to you. When a boomerang is thrown with high spin, its wings produce lift, through which it flies in a curve rather than in a straight line. They believe that it’s same with the talent, if someone invest their time and energy, they’ll get back more than they ever invest.
Talerang offers career training to students and young professionals with the mission to create work-ready graduates. Talerang began as an independent research project at Harvard Business School. They lift up the talent, and they lift much higher and off the beaten path.
They go with a tagline: “We fly, we soar, we Talerang!”

Talerang- Target Market Size
Talerang operates in the Education Technology sector focusing on career training and work-readiness. They are the first mover in a highly fragmented market which is categorised by cheap and cheerful personality development and other workshops. There is no single integrated end-to-end work-readiness training service provider in India. India has over 35,000 colleges and a large chunk of our population in the age-bracket of 15-25.
This is the demographic they keep their focus on - those who are still to enter the work-force and need both clarity and training. They help their future professionals achieve their career potential through training, access to internships and finally securing a placement opportunity. Our programs are selective, experiential and transformative in nature and provide personal mentorship in additional to group course-work, allowing each students path to be catered to their strengths. The industry is expanding rapidly with India’s next generation tech savvy and keen to upskill themselves. With digital penetration growing exponentially and a total lockdown on offline classes, the EdTech sector in India is taking off in 2020.
