QShala Secures 2.7 Crore in Latest Fundraise

QShala is a platform that helps children to learn about life skills (1). The learning platform has recently raised 27 crore INR in an angel funding round. The funding round was led by startup incubator Rainmatter Capital backed by Zerodha and Kalyan Banerjee, Co-founder of Mindtree. 

Other investors also participated in the recent fundraise of QShala. It includes Preeti Sawhney, the former Director of Lowe Lintas, Sanjay Tambwekar, CTO of Qwikcilver, Suresh Kumar Pinglay, the Former Vice President of Oracle India).

Other investors such as Chetan Vinchhi, the Uptycs Head of India, Avinash Umapathy, Partner at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Akshita Ganesh, the Product and Strategy Lead of Reforge, and Nikhil Bhandarkar, the Co-founder Ubiquity Capital, also participated in the round. 

 

QShala Nurture and Nourish the Imagination and Curiosity of Children

The Bengaluru-based startup plans to utilize its latest tranche to expand its footprint across the country and globe. The startup caters to children aged between eight and sixteen. 

QShala helps students to look into the whys and hows of what information. It helps children grow a questioning mindset and life skills to help them stay curious, confident, and aware of the ever-changing world. 

The learning platform helps children from Class 1 onwards. Their “Quriosity Curriculum” nurture and nourish the imagination and curiosity of the children. It also focuses on the learning that goes beyond the curriculum of schools.

The Founder and CEO of Zerodha, Nitin Kamath, stated that it is essential for children to develop critical thinking at a young age. Lateral thinking is beyond the classroom framework today. The world is rapidly moving towards emotional learning, where children need to build a skill set required for future employability. 

Nitin added that they have always believed in the constant upskilling and retraining philosophy. The team is delighted to partner with Qshala are like-minded people and focuses on building the skill sets. 

Sachin Ravi and Raghav Chakravarthy, the co-founders of QShala, stated that they have a mutual love for quizzing. It led them to initiate QShala in 2014. The duo aims to enable children to learn about “thinking,” a skill that will help them through their school and life via quizzing.
