Professional talent management startup HackerEarth announced on Friday (September 11) that it has grown its customer base by 120%, surpassing 4 Mn members in the global online developer community.
The Bengaluru-based startup listed among its 2019-2020 milestones the closing of a $6.5 Mn Series B funding round led by the family office of Jo Hirao and participation from existing investors. The startup founded by Sachin Gupta and Vivek Prakash in 2012, claimed to have achieved 100% revenue growth in the US. It added that over 2.1 million assessments were run on the HackerEarth platform in the last one year alone. With over 400 hackathons hosted (including Covid-19 hackathon – HackCovid) and a total of over 30,000 participants from around the world, the company’s traction with enterprises, as well as millions of developers signals a strong demand for accurate developer screening based on measurable skills, and solutions for developers to improve their coding skills.
The company also claimed that it held 5570 coding contests with 343,789 participants globally. The company said it onboarded 7ATSs – Bullhorn, Greenhouse, iCIMS, SAP SuccessFactors, Workable, JazzHR and Jobvite.
HackerEarth helps tech companies hire developers using their platform. Through a pre-ranked network of developers, assessed on the basis of their skills, HackerEarth aims to ease technical recruitment for its clients, who can save man hours by automating the entire assessment process.
The platform’s two main products for businesses are Sprint and Recruit. Sprint is an innovation management tool that allows organisations to enhance employee development by involving their employees, partners, customers, and the open developer community.
The second product, HackerEarth Recruit enables enterprises to conduct tests to screen technical candidates. Recruit allows recruiters to seamlessly create programming tests and remotely evaluate candidates. As per an official statement, Recruit’s solution has been deployed by more than 500 companies for technical assessment, including Amazon, DBS, UBS and L&T Infotech.
“We are obviously operating in unprecedented times, but the development of new software and tech-based solutions will continue to be the core driving force of business digital transformation and competitiveness post-Covid-19 — and highly sought after developer talent is critical in driving this innovation,” said Sachin Gupta, CEO of HackerEarth.
