Currently, Swiggy’s Health Hub service has been launched exclusively in Bengaluru but will be expanding to other cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, in a few weeks.
Vivek Sundar, COO at Swiggy, stated,
“There is a visible demand for healthy food choices by consumers and restaurants are seeking opportunities to innovate and stay relevant to these market changes. With Health Hub, we want to boost healthy eating patterns across the country & dismiss commonly held beliefs that healthy food is bland, hard to find & expensive.”
Changing consumer preferences towards healthier
The lockdown has changed a lot of habits of individuals, including shifting the food consumption habits from unhealthy to healthy. With Swiggy’s Health Hub, users pick the dish of their choice from gluten-free, high-protein, organic, vegan, low-carb, and keto meals across soups and salads wraps, & desserts.
Sunder added that with the launch of Health Hub, they expect the trend of ordering healthy food to grow and double within the next six months.
There has been a sharp rise in changing consumer preferences going towards healthier food options in the pandemic, and platforms are now looking to tap into this growing demand for healthier food in the young Indians.
