NEET, JEE Exams 2020: Academicians Reaching Out to PM Modi

Over 150 academicians from India and abroad of various universities have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The message is regarding the further delaying of NEET JEE Exams 2020. Academicians say that it may compromise the future of students in India. 

They added in the letter that students are the future of our nation. However, they are surrounded by clouds of uncertainty in their careers due to the pandemic. They are going through various trepidations about the admission procedures, classes, among many others. These issues need to be resolved as soon as possible.

The message has signatures of academicians from Delhi University, IGNOU, JNU, Lucknow University, IIT, BHU. It also has signatures of Indian academics from foreign universities, including the University of London, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of California, and Ben Gurion University and many others.

The letter also said that the academicians believe that India’s government will successfully conduct the NEET, JEE Exams 2020. The government would take full precautions while ensuring that the future of students and youth in India is taking care of, and the new 2020-21 academic calendar has flagged. 

 

Some State Governments May Seek to SC to Reschedule NEET, JEE Exams 2020

This advancement comes while there is a growing chorus against these exams’ conduct in September, given the rising coronavirus cases. Chief Ministers of seven states held a virtual meeting with Sonia Gandhi and decided to move the Supreme Court against the JEE, NEET exams 2020 scheduled in September.  

Meanwhile, the admit cards of the examinations have been released. Over 14 lakh admit cards for the medical and engineering entrance exams are downloaded as since the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released them (1).

The officials have planned the NEET exam on September 13, engineering entrance exam JEE Main is scheduled from September 1-6. Notably, these exams have already been delayed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
