It is better to make an external copy for future purposes.
The E-Aadhar card is an electronic copy of your Aadhar card.

Even if you lose your enrollment ID, Aadhar card download by name and date of birth is possible. This can be done by registering with your mobile number or email address. To download the Aadhar card by name and date of birth, you can follow these steps:
- Enter the official UIDAI website to retrieve your lost Enrollment ID.
- Click on the ‘Lost Enrollment ID‘ and enter your full name.
- Besides this, you also have the option to login through your mobile number or email address.
- Enter the given details.
- The website then sends an OTP to your mobile number or email address.
- Enter the OTP on the official UIDAI website.
- Once you are done with this and successfully logged in, you will receive the EID.
- Go to the home page and login through the password or EID you just reviewed.

How to use your Aadhar number to download your E-Aadhar card:
- This is to be followed only if you have already reviewed your Aadhar number.
- After entering the official UIDAI website, you have to enter your UID number with 12 digits in the format 1234/1234/1234.

- After this, enter the captcha provided on the website.

- After the auto verification is done, you have access to your E-Aadhaar and you can even download it.
- This app allows adding three more profiles for your family members that is registered with the same number.
